Two In One

Hopefully more restrained than my last Moor posts, and without the ten thousand or so shots I took.

Ok, maybe one or two piccies...

No great treks - not least due to inclement weather, still horribly unfriendly it is - so no need for long yaks. Maybe.

Saturday was just a nice lazy lunch at

Crockern Tor

Before wandering up the ridge - the proper way, going over Littaford and Longaford Tors - to look at a row by Higher White Tor. Said row was not very impressive, being somewhat fallen and very buried in grass.

The double row leading up to the tor
despite suffering the ravages of time

I then sat about on Higher White Tor for a bit, before wandering back. Very energetic, I know.

Scenery;

More scenery;

Cairn.
With Free Wheatear!

One last one;

Rough Tor
Just because.

Ok, far more pictures than I implied, let alone intended...

And now we have Sunday!

Went to Burrator and environs with The Folks for a nicpic and an amble, because again weather.

After a very nice - if slightly ponied - lunch at our favourite spot, we ended up being more energetic than I expected, climbing up to Leather Tor and Sharpitor*. Lots of peoples about, but also lots of views.

Yes, here goes...;

Burrator Reservoir
Look at that margin..
[shame about all the bods wandering along it]

The Devonport Leat is quite a good place to photograph demoiselles, as they're quite keen on it and not too far away.
It's also quite attractive to Little Black Dogs..

 Further off in the distance;

Brent Tor
Again because.

Despite the claggy heat and odd Horsefly attack, we had a very nice time. I took far too many pictures and am being very good in not inflicting them upon you. Sorry, that should read 'not inflicting most of them on you'..

[[*Sharp or Sharpitor is one of the most overused place names in Devon. Not only on t'Moor but on t'Coast as well. There is a reason for this, so the terminally curious can giigle away and maybe even find it?]]
[[**Please excuse my horrific attempt at latin]]
