Very close, in fact.
Yes, dodgy shots of very ordinary birds taken through dirty glass.. [I'd like to blame the birds who keep getting it dirty. Yes, it's them. All them.]. Consider yourselves warned;
Another 1w Greenfinch,
but 2nd? 3rd??? brood!
Not long after this was taken, the poor mite learned an important lesson about where it is and isn't safe to sit about.. Alas I did not get it on record [the strike - hitting with all claws and sending the victim somersaulting off into space! - was behind the feeders.. So no chance of getting focus.. :( ] but I do have the guilty party;
"MY railing."
To be fair, the Robin had been sat singing there when the Greenfinch landed not 6" from him..!
Indefatigable
The Greenfinch was soon back..
"The Magpies make this look a lot easier.."
Perhaps that hit [which was truly Sprawk-like] did do some damage after all; the little thing seems to think it's a Magpie...
"Anyone else want some??"
"Psst! Mate, the Robin can't get you on this one."
"Ohm nohm-nmmh-mmmph-mmh"*
"Shushin'-frushin'-wrushin'..."
[The Robin was actually eyeing up the fruity suet bits in the other feeder, there, but artistic licence!]
Less than ten seconds later..
The Robin attacked!
The Robin's quoted response to going for birds on a feeder it doesn't even use was "..Because they're there."
Ok, enough of this.
Another post, detailing an incredibly inventive weekend spent largely at the Nose, will follow shortly. I would have written it today, [or more likely, gone on a warm date with Maria.. :) ] but I had to spend the entire fricking afternoon waiting at the garage who then told me my car was fine and thank you for all the money. Happiness.
Be Seeing You..
