Waders In The Rain. Pt.1, The Black Hole

Traditional early Autumn trip to The Backwater in search of passage waders of a small and very pretty bent.

There were an embarrassing number of yearticks on offer, and a very good chance of yet another dip of DatDammYankee
[Not a spoiler to say that contrary to my hopes, I once again failed to see a Pec Sand. I wasn't surprised.]

It rained a bit, on and off, but the Black Hole in particular is well-equipped with proper hides designed for birding by people who know what the BLEEP they are doing [RSPB take notes] and so I was un-soggified.

There were waders and it was good.

Not brilliant, couple or three species missing, but hey.

The views could be,
quite frankly,
ridculous.

Assuming the birds
felt co-operative

One of four Ruff

At a slightly friendlier range than at Exminster!

Curlew Sandpipers

Never quite close enough

Common Sandpiper

Random Gull On The Axe

All fun and games and lovely to be over there, despite vexing light and dearth of Wood Sands.
[Tut, won't do]

Be Seeing You...
