Backward Birding

Being the doings and rantings of a Devonian birder of a rather Backward persuasion. May contain wibble. Will contain digressions, tangents, and possibly some stuff about birds. Warning: all opinions voiced within are purely conjectural, all bird identifications are to be assumed erroneous and actually refer to either Mallard [Anas ubiquitus], Common Buzzard [Buteo crowbaiteo], Herring Gull [Larus shiteonyourcarus], Woodpigeon [Columba fatbastardii] or Chaffinch [Fringilla irritatus].

Fresh in!

There were three in the quarry [hiding from the unforecast fresh SW wind - supposed to be 'light variable' and sunnier!!] when I got there, and I saw three more fly in. So at least six present, though never all in view, because that would be far too convenient.
All birds very mobile, with the local Rockits trying to hold territory at them, and another little visitor in the mix, too;
