Well, having suffered technical issues last weekend, this Saturday was not taken up with a futile effort to find butterflies [ok, it might not have been futile, but going on past record..].
Instead I took said device off to see what could be done about it. The verdict was a malfunction caused by damage to the lens array - apparently this kind of thing can have a delayed effect [I've not dropped it for months!] - meaning it couldn't focus while zoomed, so couldn't set exposure. Getting this fixed would mean sending it off to sony [they only work direct these days] and paying about half what it costs new. After 'x weeks'.
I had a think and went 'ahfuggeddaboudit'
So, new camera!
I went Panasonic. What do you think?
Blue Tit.
Through a rainy window.
Robin.
Ditto.
Chinook!
This is likely to be the only air show photo this year - yesterday's glorious conditions co-incided with the dreaded initial charge and today it's raining - but I've finally got the Chinook, and from a snapshot, too. :)
Told you it was raining.
Despite the watery splodge, that pose is just too funky not to put up. :)
Of note, first fledged young in the skygarden seen yesterday - while camera charging as well, of course - being a couple of Blackbirds! :D
Flowery service will resume shortly.
Be Seeing You...
