Updating the situation on my Hawthorn.. Huh? You ask? Well, it turns out the little black ants haven't been quite so effective as I thought, and at least one lady Ladybird's been very busy...
Oh yes, it's like a horror movie in miniature there now, with the poor aphids trying to run [He's grinning quite a lot at the moment] and the [comparatively] massive toothy beasts coming from any and all directions [they sneak up the undersides of the leaves!] and devouring them...! :D
"Run! Run for your liiiives!"
"Raaaaargh!"
"No, no, please no-aaaaaaiiiieeee!"
Ahem.
Ladybird larva!
Look at those spines..
Chrysalis and discarded skin
Blending in very well with dead flower heads
stuck to honeydew.. [oh the irony]
Also, while we're talking insects at Home..
Ok, this looks just like a [bit worn]
female Light Orange Underwing
But both out of range and season. So....????
Single-dotted Wave
Yellow Shell
in the sunshine!
Riband Wave
Small Blood-vein
Dwarf Cream Wave
Riband and Dwarf Cream Waves by far the most common [at least amongst those surviving long enough for me to see them..!]. along with assorted micros [or are they? Maybe just one stick-y classic micro and that 'wings held down' one].
Finally, here's a couple of awful Moon shots;
Behold, The Moooooon!
Not the Cheshire Cat
Partial eclipse, camera sulking..
No, not a cloud
More Moon meant my camera decided that yes, it would give more craters.. ::sigh::
[Why I can't find a camera that just does what you tell it I do not know... This one's pet trick is flat out refusing to shoot. Not even consistently, either.]
Be Seeing You...
