What's This, Then??

I had a surprise this morning, finding a moth lurking near my little car which defied identification!

Fortunately, the lovely folks on a certain online forum about birds' moth ID section [oh yes, they have it all] answered in very quick order.

Let's have a look, shall we?

Box-tree Moth
Cydalima perspectalis

This is an invader from Asia, only arrived very recently, so not in my macro or micro books. It is also, despite being about 4cm across [half a credit card or so], a micro. At least technically, being a Crambid!

Yes, related to things like this;

Some Crambid or other...

Go and indeed figure.

Proper posting, which will I must warn you may contain other moths - it was a half decent night - will continue soon.

Be Seeing You...
