Patch Hollydays

Sort of a mix of stuff from the Patch as the calender year drew to a close..

No, no is IS December...

Wonderful views and awful photo of a Firecrest at the Nose - again in the FirstAndLast Bushes - on 27th;

It's in the middle, facing left and away.

Yeah, brilliant, isn't it?

Mimosa out

8 GNDs around the Nose [27th]

Festive Great Tit
[one of a band of 4G,3C and 7+LT]

Aaargh! Blobs!!

The big ones are buoys in the Buoy Farm, the little ones around them are gulls, and the three groups beyond are scoter. Really. Independently verified by two other birders! o:)

Awful light, but these are Fulmars

Grey Seals

Slight camo failure

This Turnstone flew right up to me
while I was counting Purple Sands!

One..two..

Sandpiper Purple

Primrose

Obligatory Herring Gull

Looking out from Daddyhole;
Meadfoot, Kilmorie, Thatcher Point and Rock

Sometimes geological boundaries are subtle things,
told by shifts in microfossils.
Sometimes not so much.

Oh yes, one piece of news; I went to check the Blackball Roost on a day of SW winds - the day after the Boss had found all sorts of stuff on the Patch - and found.. 5 GC Grebes and a GND. As well as 850+ large gulls. Overwhelming, eh?
My camera threw a hissy fit at the low light and so no pictures [you're welcome], but well, hardly missing much...

Anyways, on that cheery note I shall

Be Seeing You...
