Double Trouble

Yes, it's that one where I went swanning off to cornywarl in search of birds large and distant and small and close.

Note the reasonable Booby-a-like on the right. The real deal had white underparts starting level not in front of the wing coverts, no white rump crescent [very visible in the excellent light when flying away], shorter broader wings [especially notable when soaring], and of course pulled some wonderful low-angle dives! But not close to. Oh no....

Enough of that. I went on to Pendeen in the hope of a flypast of a Brown nature. And to sit down to lunch without having my wallet bled dry [ffs...]

Manxies were streaming through early on; 150/minute at St. Ives and 62/minute at Pendeen [ad it up and go 'oooh' compared to South Devon figures] A light Arctic Skua at SI and a dark at P were all - not exactly ideal seawatch weather after all.

Oooooh what a bird! A big blocker bites the dust, too. :)

The day ended counting alba wagtails at the services; I had a flock of 52 fly over! :) Also 14 juvenile Swallows  :D

Ok, gratuitous pictures sat on a rock with Shags would have been nice, but you can't have everything*. And the WBW was deffo cuter ;)
