Because you just can't get enough.
Patrols on Saturday led to shock year ticks, but never mind them as here are some awful pictures for your
Bumblebee!
[Would have been sharp, but the bee was vibrating!]
Juvenile Blackbirds!*
:D
Waiting 'patiently'
"Will you two stop that racket,
I'm pecking as hard as I can!"
Swallow
[Really]
Swift
Pretty flowers of some sort
My little Hawthorn is coming out at last..
:D
Shock year ticks? Never mind the Spanish Inquisition, nobody expects a flypast Cuckoo! [Well, not here, anyway!]. Heading away by the time I got optics on it, so all I can say for sure [even minding the date] is it was a grey morph.
Second [and FYI twice as common on Patch] was only picked up via the mad fortune of scanning the sky at Tessier, watching Swifts [as was that flyover Swallow]. I noticed a few gulls, way up and descending... Hmm, what are they doing up there, wondered I.
I had a closer look and saw something else, even further removed into the airy heights; long wings, short tail, rather white underneath. But no, not another gull**, those wings, while with a carpal kink, were more evenly broad and had fingered tips. Ooooooh.
Ye Gods and Little Fishes it was high up, though! [And not surprising, with a) the thermals in the heat, and b) all the gulls to encourage their use!]
Coming up, a trip far far away from the hordes on t' Moor, and some actually half-decent [but only half] shots of various forms of wild life.
Be Seeing You...
[[*That 'guck' has been swept up and left deliberately, to give the Blackbirds something to pick through - mixing mealworms in hides them from the frelling pigeons. Just in case you were wondering if I was actually that mucky.]]
[[**Though 99 times out of a hundre- Actually, more like 999 out of a thousand!]]
